I am sorry Singapore - Singapore's Sad Story

I hear your apology Mr Lee, and I too must apologise to fellow Singaporeans for I was amongst the 66.6% who gave you a strong mandate in 2006.

To those who are addicted to the casinos and those families that have been destroyed. I am sorry.

To the parents who cannot put your children in your school of choice because the foreigners have taken their places.
I am sorry.

To the single mum who had been told “It’s just $80”.
I am sorry.

To the young couples who have to pay for your overpriced flats for the next 30 years.
I am sorry.

To the homeless who have to live in tents. And your children who have to live in tents because the HDB would rather rent out their flats to foreigners for better profits.
I am sorry.

To drivers who need a car for work, but have to pay through their noses for a piece of paper just to get stuck in the jams.
I am sorry.

To the old man I met who told me he lost his cleaning job to a foreigner and now  has to collect tin cans and cardboard boxes for $8 a day.
I am sorry.

To those who have to take the trains and buses packed like sardines everyday, paying the ever increasing fares but receiving no better service.
I am sorry.

To the national servicemen who sacrifice two of their best years not to mention  reservist training putting them at a disadvantage to foreigners.
I am sorry.

To the needy who got a miserly $30 increase a month.
I am sorry.

To all workers who have lost their jobs, because companies prefer to hire foreigners who are cheaper, but not necessary better.
I am sorry.

To the retirees who had their CPF withdrawal delayed and have to sell their flats and move into rental flats.
I am sorry.

To the students who were denied a scholarship because it went to a foreigner.
I am sorry.

Just like you, Mr Lee, I said sorry. But the difference is I am going to do something about it.

And I hope the rest of the 66.6% will too.
